March 20, 2015 – Z-AXIS, Inc. has created a board of directors to guide the privately-held Rochester, NY contract design and manufacturing company. Company owners Michael Allen and Robin Allen purchased Z-AXIS from its parent corporation VDC in 2014.
Michael Allen, co-owner and president of Z-AXIS, serves as chairman of the board. He has held engineering and leadership roles with the company since its founding in 1989, and has led the company to sustained business growth since becoming president in 2006. His achievements include identifying and developing new lines of business, implementing quality programs, upgrading manufacturing systems and creating a team of high-performance leaders for all areas of the business. He has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and holds four US patents.
Robin Allen, co-owner of Z-AXIS, holds a non-voting position as secretary of the board. She is owner and operator of a small graphic design business and has a BA in art and design from State University of New York at Oswego.
Outside directors Nick Valente and Massimio Amadio join the company owners on the board.
Nick Valente is executive director of strategy and business development at ITT Corporation, where he leads corporate strategy, business development and mergers and acquisitions. He holds Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification in Commercial Excellence and Green Belt Certification in Operational Excellence. Valente has 12 years of prior experience as vice president of business development for Bosch Security and Communications and IDEX Corporation. He has an MS in Management and a BS in Organizational Management from Roberts Wesleyan College.
Massimo Amadio is a commercial excellence manager at ITT Corporation, where he launched and leads the Commercial Excellence group focused on growth, transactional pricing, sales operations and voice of customer. He holds Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification. He has prior experience in supply chain and strategic sourcing at The Trane Company, Solectron and Xerox. He has a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology.
