Z-AXIS Earns NY State SBA Recognition

April 2104 – Z-AXIS president Michael Allen is the 2014 Small Business Person of the Year for New York State, cited for “entrepreneurial spirit and vision” in the Small Business Administration (SBA) district office announcement.

Selection criteria included staying power, growth in number of employees, financial performance reflecting sustained upward growth over at least three years, innovativeness of product or service, response to adversity, and contributions to community-oriented projects. Companies in the printed circuit assembly (electronic assembly) manufacturing industry with up to 500 employees are considered small businesses.

Allen has held engineering and leadership roles with Z-AXIS since its founding in 1989. He and his wife Robin Allen purchased the company in 2014.

“We met and exceeded significant goals as a company this year, with Robin’s enthusiastic support and the talents of the entire team at Z-AXIS,” Allen said. “This recognition is a nice acknowledgement of what we’ve achieved together.”
