Videos – Soldering Methods for PCB Assemblies in Contract Manufacturing

Soldering Printed Circuit Board Assemblies

These videos show six different methods for soldering electronic components to printed circuit boards in a contract electronics manufacturing center in the USA.

Selective Soldering. This video shows a high-end selective soldering system in operation. Selective soldering on mixed-technology PCBAs increases throughput and quality, while reducing labor costs. (3:21)

Reflow, Wave and Hand Soldering. This video shows the use of reflow ovens for SMT soldering and wave solder for through-hole or mixed-technology boards. It also discusses hand soldering including training and certification requirements.  (3:39)

Robotic and Hot-Bar Soldering. This video shows a programmable robotic soldering system and a hot-bar soldering system in use at our contract electronics manufacturing center. (3:24)

These videos highlight Z-AXIS’ commitment to constantly adding equipment and capabilities in order to provide high-quality electronic manufacturing services in the USA. For example, the latest addition, a state-of-the-art selective solder machine, adds an increased level of manufacturing capacity and quality excellence that, in turn, delivers an advantage to our customers that are continuously competing in integrated supply chains. As our internal teams work to optimize our ability to source materials from increasingly competitive and market-strained supply chains, this new selective solder machine allows us to better meet the needs of our customers so that they remain highly competitive and successful. And, while we rely on our people to achieve the high level of quality we deliver to our customers, our management team continues to support the high level of investment in state-of-the-art manufacturing and quality systems equipment that is necessary to remain a valued partner of our customers.
