Z-AXIS adds ultasonic welder

Aug. 27, 2009 - Z-AXIS, a leading provider of electronics design and manufacturing services in western New York, has added a Branson 2000 ultrasonic welder to its manufacturing equipment list. The new welder is used to quickly join plastic parts with a strong, permanent bond. It is used to seal the cases of the company's BEAR Power Supply products and in various contract manufacturing projects for numerous clients.

"Ultrasonic welding creates plastic housings that are impervious to dust, moisture and other contaminants, with a seal that won't fail over time or under abuse," said Michael Allen, president of Z-AXIS. "This is the latest example of how we are continually investing in manufacturing capabilities to meet our customers' needs."

Z-AXIS adds equipment at its electronics design and manufacturing center near Rochester, NY

May 8, 2009 - Z-AXIS, a leading provider of electronics design and manufacturing services in western New York, has expanded its production capacity by adding a new dual 80-watt CO2 laser to its manufacturing equipment list. The new laser is used for a number of processes in custom electromechanical assembly production, including:

Laser cutting of plastic insulators to shield printed circuit boards within assemblies.
Customization of plastic enclosures.
Engraving of logos, date codes, serial numbers and other markings.
De-marking of ICs.

The new system offers more than three times the throughput of the single 60-watt laser it replaces.

Z-AXIS closes fiscal year with greater than 30% growth

Feb. 28, 2009 - Electronics manufacturer Z-AXIS (www.zaxis.net) completed its 2009 fiscal year today with revenues up more than 30% over fiscal 2008. This is the third consecutive year of at least 30% revenue growth for the electronics design and manufacturing firm, located near Rochester, NY.

Z-AXIS' growth stems from ongoing demand for its contract electronics design and manufacturing services and its custom power supplies for medical, commercial and industrial applications. The successful acquisitions in 2008 of Display Concepts, LLC and Boundless Technologies, Inc. further contributed to the growth.

"Even with the uncertain economy we are seeing a strong finish to the fiscal year from ongoing production for existing customers as well as new projects for new customers that we acquired over the year," said Z-AXIS president Michael Allen. "We fully expect to repeat this level of growth again in the coming fiscal year based on projects already in the pipeline, many of which are scheduled to go into production within the next three months."
